Introduction to Classpecting

This website is an attempt at comprehensively explaining the classpect system present in Homestuck. You don't need to be familiar with Homestuck in order to understand my writing, but I will be spoiling the series, if it's something you want to experience blindly.

A classpect has 3 parts - a lunar sway, a class, and an aspect. For example, I am a derse Rogue of Light, hence the name of this website. There are two lunar sways, fourteen classes, and twelve aspects, leading to a total of 336 possible classpects.

A big part of this system is built on dualities. The way classes reflect as passive and active, inversion theory, and the way paired classes are constructed. Because of this, the best way to understand the system is to look for connections between individual points, instead of focusing too hard on any one component. See how different classes, or aspects relate to each other, or how they don't. Leverage your understanding of once concept to help understand the opposite. Don't focus on one side, focus on the coin.

Before you get started, be warned that this is not some Harry Potter house tier bullshit. It's going to get messy. I'm not shying away from the negative traits, in fact, those are typically the most useful. This isn't going to be some fun buzzfeed internet quiz to put in your tinder bio. This system is designed to actually help people understand each other, and a big part of that is in the flaws.

When you get into this, there's no going back. This system has permenantly changed the way I view others, for better, or for worse. Andrew Hussie got at something very real when he was writing Homestuck, and that's a little scary. It's the closest to "ultimate theory for everything" that we're ever going to get. And if you fuck with this, that's great, let's get into it.
